I noticed by analysing these products that all the mastheads and photos are very dominant on the page so the audience see them straight away. I also noticed on a lot of them place a featured video directly under the masthead, allowing the audience to see it straight away when they scroll down. The themes and house style are carried out throughout the website pages which creates a strong continuity. The house styles on each website are also quite simple and use pastel colours which make the website have a delicate feel to them instead of the main colours being too bold and loud. All the websites feature social networking sites linked through there websites. This allows the audience to be up to date with everything the artist does and has a variety of choises to follow them through, ranging from, Youtube to Twitter to Sound Cloud. Each website is also very individual creating it's own style which is the same throughout all their products. The websites all try promote themselves heavily by placing promotional images and texts in a variety of places throughout the website pages. For example, on Birdy's website, her debut album is featured in the left third of the website right next to her photo. The audience will see this straight away and may look into purchasing it. On Sara Bareilles website she has a 'featured video' and also an image of her new album, which will allow the audience to hear it whilst browsing the website. Never Shout Never's website also uses this but in a different way - they have tried to plug there new tour by placing it under the 'NEWS' section which will attract the audience as they will want to know what's new and upcoming in the artists life. However, Never Shout Never have placed a banner directly above the masthead which promotes there new album. I think creating a banner is a good promotion technique for the website as it not only looks unique and professional, it also stands out and attracts the audience from the moment they enter the website. The banner also uses a hyperlink which links the viewer straight to the page where they can buy the product instead of having to go to the shops.
